Peter Kennett - Managing Director

Peter Kennett - Managing Director Peter is the Managing Director of Cibus Catering Group. He is a trained chef with City and Guilds Levels. After training, Peter worked for Lion Breweries running several of their restaurants before leaving to go overseas to the United Kingdom to further his career working in Brighton and Scotland.

Peter returned to Dunedin where he opened his own restaurant 'Genies' specialising in fine dining. In 1994 Peter joined Leith House and Ace Food Services Ltd was started. Today as Cibus Catering Group, it has expanded and there are operational sites around New Zealand

Julie Cooper - Director & Operations Manager

Julie Cooper - Director & Operations Manager Julie has a diploma in Hotel Catering and Administration. After graduating she joined a large contract catering company based in Wellington and then moved with the company to Auckland.

She specialises in staff management, contract negotiations and forward planning.

Julie joined Cibus Catering Group in 2008.

Carolyn Reeves - Office Manager

Carolyn Reeves - Office Manager Carolyn has a 20 year back ground in office administration and joined Cibus Catering Group in 2004 after a six year break from the workforce while she raised her two children.

She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office.
 

Megan Tagg - Kitchen Manager/Chef

Megan Tagg - Kitchen Manager/Chef Megan is a married mother of one and started working at Cibus Catering Group in March 2010 as a sandwich maker.

She was given the opportunity by Cibus to attend Otago Polytechnic to complete her Level 3 Cookery and has been able to work her way up through the company gaining hands-on experience to her current position as Kitchen Manager.

Michelle Oldman - Kitchen Manager/Chef - Otago Boys High School

Michelle Oldman - Kitchen Manager/Chef - Otago Boys High School Michelle has been a chef for 30 years. Born in England, she worked in 4-star hotels, pubs and colleges and worked in most sections of the kitchen ranging from a-la-carte, butchery, pastry and buffet work and specialised as a pastry chef for eight years.

Since being in New Zealand for the past 18 years she has worked in cafes, Millennium and Quality Hotels, Dunedin Public Hospital and Otago Polytechnic as a lecturer before coming to Cibus Catering Group.

Callum McDonell - Kitchen Manager - Tauranga

Callum McDonell - Kitchen Manager - Tauranga Callum has worked in food catering for 30 years starting his career in Taupo doing a-la-carte and buffet work. In 1991 he travelled to England and Scotland working as a sous chef eventually returning to Rotorua to began work as head chef at Herbs Restaurant.

In 1995 the travel bug again surfaced and he visited Vietnam, Nepal and India. In 1996 he settled in Brisbane where he opened his own restuarant in 1998 in Bulimba which he ran successfully for 18 years.

In 2015 he decided on a lifesytle change and moved with his family back to New Zealand settling in Tauranga where he began work in January 2016 as Kitchen Manager for Cibus Catering Group.

Callum is a very valued member of staff.

Robert Nicol - Kitchen Manager - Ashburton

Robert Nicol - Kitchen Manager - Ashburton Robert originates from Ashburton and began his cooking career as a baker and pastry chef back in 1993. He then went on to complete his professional chef qualifications at Hotel Ashburton working there for five years eventually becoming Executive Chef.

In 2002 he ventured around the world and worked as head chef for L'Oreal in the UK before returning to New Zealand for a couple of years in 2004. Robert headed off again to Adelaide, Australia where he has been for the past 10 years, mostly working for Great Southern Rail as an onboard chef, development chef and also later on as the Warehouse and Food Safety Manager.

Robert is warmly welcomed as Kitchen Manager for the newly built facility of Radius Millstream in Ashburton.

Justin Bennet - Kitchen Manager - Leslie Groves

Justin Bennet - Kitchen Manager - Leslie Groves Justin trained at Otago Polytechnic during 1999-2000 and completed a certificate in cookery level before moving to Wellington and finishing his City and Guilds Diploma in Culinary Arts in 2004.

Since then he has worked in various places in Wellington and Dunedin ranging from cafes and restaurants to function and airline catering.

He has worked in aged care since July 2013 and started with Cibus Catering Group in February 2014.

Jacqui Newland - Kitchen Manager - Christchurch

Jacqui Newland completed her Chef training at Christchurch Polytechnic in 1996 and over the last 20 years she has worked and owned cafes and restaurants throughout New Zealand and Australia.

After sellingher business in 2015 and ejoying a one year sabbatical, Jacqui has joined the team at Cibus Catering Group as Kitchen Manager in Christchurch.
