Cibus Catering was originally founded in 1994 (as Ace Food Services Ltd), operating from a kitchen in a residential care facility. We now have production kitchens and well-equipped stand-alone facilities allowing us to cook onsite.

Cibus Catering can take care of all your food service requirements, from ordering to preparation and cooking, serving and clearing. Our expert team offers budgeting advice, menu planning and food safety solutions to the catering and food service industry.

Cibus Catering is a Dunedin-based, 100% New Zealand owned full food service provider, servicing the whole of New Zealand.

Peter Kennett

Managing Director
Peter is the Managing Director of Cibus Catering. Peter believes in a hands-on approach and has his finger on the pulse in all the kitchens and sites within the business, having daily contact with his Kitchen Managers and keeping an eye on quality and the finer details.

He is a trained chef and has worked for Lion Breweries running several of their restaurants before leaving to go overseas to the United Kingdom, furthering his career working in Brighton and Scotland.

Peter returned to Dunedin, where he opened his own restaurant 'Genies' specialising in fine dining. In 1994, Peter joined Leith House and Ace Food Services Ltd was started. Today as Cibus Catering, it has expanded and there are operational sites around New Zealand.

Julie Cooper

Director & Operations Manager
Julie joined Cibus Catering in 2008, her vast experience and passion for this industry adds freshness to our business. Her qualifications in Hotel Catering and Administration, teamed up with Julie’s experience with large contract catering with companies based in Wellington and Auckland, make her the perfect Operations Manager. Specialising in staff management, contract negotiations and forward planning, Cibus Catering are in the right hands.
